Plans, VAT, and what happens when you change your mind.
Is the Free plan really free?
Yes. The Free plan is permanently free — no credit card required and no trial that expires. You get 5 active monitors with 3-minute checks and 7 days of data retention for as long as you use WatchCat.
What counts as an active monitor?
Any monitor that is currently running — both uptime and cron monitors count toward the same limit. Paused monitors don't count, so you can archive unused monitors without losing a slot.
Do paid plan prices include VAT?
No. Prices for Pro and Team are exclusive of VAT. VAT is added at checkout based on your country. EU businesses with a valid VAT number can enter it at checkout to have VAT removed.
Can I upgrade or downgrade at any time?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. If a downgrade leaves you with more active monitors than the new plan allows, the newest ones are paused automatically — nothing is deleted.
Do you offer a Data Processing Agreement (DPA)?
Yes. A DPA is available to all customers — no enterprise plan required. Once you sign up, you can generate and sign one directly from your account dashboard.
What payment methods do you accept?
Payments are handled by Stripe. Major credit and debit cards are accepted. Invoices, receipts, and subscription management are all accessible from your account billing page.
